Needle Loom Operator

Under the guidance of the Manufacturing Manager, the position performs a variety of duties including but are not limited to; transporting raw materials throughout the warehouse, setting up looms or other processing machines, reading operating instructions and preparing loom pattern mechanisms, operating looms to needle punch fiber into textile fabrics or products, repairing minor mechanical problems such as broken or defective needles and completing major cleans on the machinery.

Candidate must be comfortable with shift work. This will consist of 4 weeks on day shifts and 4 weeks on nights.


  • Completion of a diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience within a heavy industrial manufacturing role.
  • Proficient with computers, scanning procedures, and data entry.
  • Mechanically inclined, working knowledge of operating large machinery.
  • Must be able to move and pick up 50 lbs. by self or 51 lbs to 80 lbs with assistance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operators needle loom lines as required, including retrieving and transporting raw materials, feedback loading, setup of line, and blending of fibers according to instructions.
  • Adjusts machine performance on material by observing machine operation; detecting malfunctions; adjusting settings.
  • Observes processes and continuously checks fabrics or products for defects and verifies quality and efficiency requirements.
  • Investigates and troubleshoot equipment stoppages and notify the maintenance if there are any assembly, safety, or quality issues.
  • Notifies Team Leader of mechanical malfunctions.
  • Transports and stores finished products and packaging materials throughout the plant by operating the forklift and using other powered equipment and lifting devices.
  • Records all production information in the ERP systems on the production and quality reports.
  • Performs basic maintenance, repair, and cleaning duties of the equipment.
