Your goal is to get product out the door, but you’re constantly fighting the elements ‐ abrasion, chemical attacks, and machine downtime. Trying different types of filter media with membranes has not improved the longevity of the baghouse filter bags.

Engineered by Albarrie, Tandem™ Filter Bags combine a high‐performance surface layer of Polyamide P84® fibers with other conventional filter media, such as Acrylic, Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS), Polyester, or Meta-Aramid for enhanced filtration performance. The P84® top layer, with its multilobal fiber construction, provides a higher surface area for effective surface filtration and dust cake formation. Polyimide P84® fibers also help maintain high airflow and low‐pressure drop across the media.

Tandem™ baghouse filter bags don’t require a membrane since the top layer provides the filter bag with the added protection needed in a highly abrasive environment. In addition, P84® fibers offer good chemical and high-temperature resistance, making them suitable for many applications.

ENHANCE FILTER PERFORMANCE WITH P84®

Developed by Evonik, P84® Polyimide fibers are an excellent choice in demanding industrial air filtration applications where high temperatures are present, and there’s a probability of corrosion and abrasion. The fiber’s unique multi-lobal structure offers the highest surface area compared to other fibers on the market. In addition, they stay stable in high-temperature applications with a peak operating temperature of 500°F (260 °C). The fibers are non-flammable and chemically stable, making them an outstanding solution for industrial air filtration.

LAYERING TECHNIQUE

Albarrie’s specialty filter bag, Tandem™, achieves superior performance in extremely harsh baghouse conditions by layering fibers (technical fabrics) during manufacture. When manufacturers use a layering technique, the combined properties of the different fibers or fabrics are adopted in the fabric’s performance.

ECONOMICAL CONVENTIONAL FIBERS

Albarrie uses conventional filter media such as Acrylic, Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS), Polyester, or Meta-Aramid to construct the bottom layer in its Tandem™ Baghouse Filter Bags. These fibers offer excellent chemical and abrasion-resistant properties, but the P84 top layer extends their performance. Combining these fibers allows Albarrie to offer enhanced industrial air filtration for a fraction of the cost compared to 100% P84 polyimide fabric.

MECHANICAL STABILITY

Successful air filtration means no emissions. Mechanical stability in baghouse filter bags is critical to successful air filtration. Excessive particulate loads in the gas stream can impact the filter bags and the baghouse cleaning system, causing abrasion. Good quality filter bags must resist abrasion to keep emissions at bay. Albarrie uses the highest quality fibers with high abrasion-resistant properties to produce our specialty filter bags, so your baghouses can remain emissions-free.
