POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Manufacturing Manager the position oversees the shipping and receiving of all products going out of the Morrow road location, Albarrie Canada Limited (ACL). These duties include overseeing and coordinating shipping schedules, overseeing shipper/receivers within the department, determining the shipment method, scheduling containers, and monitoring Albarrie Canada inventory.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the Albarrie shipping department and schedule, to understand and coordinate all requirements. Collaborating with the Manufacturing Manager, understand all requirements for shipping and coordinate all logistical needs.
  • Oversees the shipping department and personnel, to ensure accurate completion of all shipping and custom requirements.
  • Manages all of Albarrie’s orders moving through the shipping department, through the Monday.COM applications.
  • Requests shipping quotations for all shipments (ACL) and provides costs accordingly. Overall responsibility for all international shipments.
  • Arranges trucks for ACL, on the main shipping schedule to meet customer expectations.
  • Arrange all trucks for inbound materials based on needs ensuring the best rates/delivery.
  • Assembles containers and crates, packs goods with tape or straps to be shipped as per Albarrie standards and to minimize shipping damage.
  • Review and approve all freight invoices.
  • Handle freight disputes (inbound and outbound – including damage freight claims).
  • Works with Manufacturing team on continuous improvement projects as applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience completing shipping function; bills of lading, obtaining freight rates, loading, and unloading trucks, and operating various forklifts.
  • 5 years of experience on a forklift.
  • Experience overseeing shipping personnel and labour.
  • High School Diploma or vocational equivalent.
