STOP OIL FROM EXITING YOUR SECONDARY OIL CONTAINMENT SYSTEM

Traditional concrete secondary oil containment systems or bath systems around transformers have one major flaw – they fill up with rainwater. When the containment is full of water, it’s unable to capture oil if a catastrophic transformer oil leak occurs. As a result, conventional oil containment systems must incorporate site drainage, oil water separators or pump and treat systems to account for water that pre-fills the containment. If you have oil and water in the containment, you must ensure the oil doesn’t leak into the environment.

Q-Max is a High-Efficiency Oil Stop Valve with one of the highest flow rates in the industry. Using Albarrie’s patented oil-reactive self-sealing smart fabric technology to trap oil inside its core. It offers 360° of radial oil removal over the entire length of the pipe while allowing clean water to exit the containment area, satisfying SPCC regulations for secondary containment.

QUICK & EASY INSTALLATION

The Q-Max Oil Stop Valve is installed vertically or at a minimum 45-degree angle by attaching it to the outlet drain pipe of the containment. For best results, a vertical installation is recommended whenever possible.

SMART FABRIC TECHNOLOGY

The Q-Max uses Albarrie’s oil-reactive, self-sealing smart fabric technology. The smart fabric contains a unique proprietary blend of dense oil-immobilizing polymers, called Alabsorb, needle punched between two nonwoven fabric layers as a spiral tube.

TRAP OIL, NOT WATER

As contaminated water enters the Q-Max, water flows through the outer shell, passing through the polymer and into the inner core. When oil contacts the polymer inside the core, it undergoes a chemical change. This chemical change absorbs and locks oil inside the inner core, clogging it and turning it into an impassable membrane, keeping oil out of the environment.
